TOM WEEMS, RA, aia, acha

Principal Architect

In his 25-year tenure as the founder and principal of Thomas Weems Architect, Tom continues to enjoy building relationships and partnerships birthed from the architectural process. He credits TWA’s continued success and longevity to two important constants – great clients and a great team. His passionate involvement in each project stems from a deep-seated appreciation for the local community. From recreational activities with his dogs on South Holston Lake to ETSU athletics games to enjoying downtown eateries on Friday nights, Tom holds fast to TWA’s commitment to enriching the day-to-day experiences of those who live, work, learn and play in the spaces we design. He has created a strong following of dedicated repeat clients in multiple markets by adhering to the philosophy of providing creative architectural design solutions on time and within budget. He is accredited by the American Institute of Architects and the American College of Health Care Architects. Tom is licensed in Tennessee and Virginia.

 

Alex hatcher, Assoc. aia

Architectural Designer & Project Architect

Alex is a design associate with a commitment to smart, sustainable design and technical accuracy. He values the specialized elements of architecture and handles the majority of drawing coordination with consultants. Alex, his wife, and three girls call Greeneville home, and when he’s not producing BIM models or managing project construction, he is either enjoying any variety of sports, renovating their home, or spending time in the great outdoors. He is currently pursuing licensure in the State of Tennessee.

caryn ellis, RID, NCIDQ

Registered Interior Designer & Project Manager

Caryn is responsible for project management as well as interior finish selection, specifications, and interior space planning. With diverse experience in a range of renovation and new construction in all sectors, she assists the team in design development and visualization and leads the team through construction documentation and administration to ensure a smooth project flow from start to finish. She and her family, including her husband, son and daughter, are actively involved in the Tri-Cities through work, church, and civic responsibilities, and as a working mother, she appreciates the affect built environments have on the next generations, especially in this region. She aims to create spaces that are not only timeless in design and aesthetically pleasing, but also support the practical mission and vision of each client. She is accredited by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification and is licensed by the State of Tennessee.

 

MARY GRACE GALPIN, NCIDQ

Interior Designer

Mary Grace is an interior specialist dedicated to excellence in all areas of project production and completion. Upon completing her studies at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, she returned to Johnson City to search for a place to impact her hometown community and found a niche as a part of the TWA team. She participates in the design development and documentation phases to actualize interior concepts and provide a functional, finished spaces. She is accredited by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification and is pursuing her licensure in the State of Tennessee.
