The Regional Center for Health Professions was the first of a two-phase initiative and collaboration between Northeast State Community College, King College, Wellmont Health Systems, and the City of Kingsport. In an effort to add to the redevelopment of downtown and create a campus for health professionals, TWA engaged in a design-build partnership for a $2.5 million, two-story allied health building to house medical technology, nursing, and five other associate health care degree programs. The technology and space allocations for this center and these programs have continued to be pivotal for Kingsport's economic and work force development.
